reCareered: Who's Firing? Layoffs week ended 10-16-09
Who's Firing is a weekly survey of organizations announcing (or rumoring) layoffs. Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies that are contracting.
Inclusion on this listing doesn’t mean the entire industry is down, as many from the same sector appeared on the “Who’s Hiring” article published 10/12/09. It is interesting to note that while Federal hiring is on the rise, a number of State and Local governments face continued cutbacks. Also, Verizon has led the top hiring lists, but is also announcing a number of layoffs. Boeing made the layoff list, while competing aerospace manufacturers top the Who’s Hiring lists.
Job seekers: You might want to look in greener pastures than these companies.

Anime channels in boston?
Hello, i live in boston, and i really love anime .
Is there a channel that is dedicated to only anime on any of the service providers in the boston area ?
I have comcast right now but there are no channels, only ON DEMAND stuff which sucks.
I was thinking of trying either HULU or NETFLIX also.
If there is anyone that has any input on this on what is the best way to watch anime, id greatly appreciate it.
There is the FUNimation Channel, the only 24/7 anime channel in North America, and they show anime from not just FUNimation but from ADV, Geneon, Viz, Right Stuf and CPM as well.
Both are available on Verizon Fios and AT&T U-Verse/
If you want the FUNimation Channel for your home and your television service provider does not carry it, all you need to do is request it.
Step 1. Call your Cable/Satellite Provider
Step 2. Ask for Customer Service Rep
Politely…please
Step 3. Explain to them that FUNimation Channel is a 24 hour anime channel
Step 4. Let them know you would keep with them or switch providers to receive the channel.
Also....
Send note in your next cable bill
Fill out customer service forms on Cable/Dish websites
Go to Cable office and ask in person!
Better yet…bring them baked goods every week until they add the channel.
That's the best way to let the cable/dish companies know you want the channel. They file these requests and send them to the corporate offices for review.
