Super Bowl Odds: 2010 Buffalo Bills Predictions
Online sportsbooks have opened with the 2010 Buffalo Bills as a 100-1 longshot in NFL predictions to win the Super Bowl with an over/under win total of 5.5 UNDER (-145). A quick look at the Bills reveals plenty of reasons for the long NFL odds and their serious lack of appeal with the gaming public. Buffalo finished dead last in the AFC East Division last year with a 6-10 straight up record. It is worth noting, however, that the Bills were 8-7-1 against the NFL betting spread which is a nice reminder on how a team with little public appeal can offer enhanced board value as a bargain hunter's delight. Buffalo went under the total in 10 games last year.
The 2010 Buffalo Bills have a new front office for this season as Buddy Nix takes over as general manager and Chan Gailey is the new head coach. Gailey previously coached the Dallas Cowboys in the 1990's and was most recently the head man at Georgia Tech where he had up and down success and was eventually fired after the 2007 campaign. Bills fans were less than thrilled with the hire heading into 2010 NFL predictions but Gailey does command respect for his offensive mind, while being a very bland personality. Trent Edwards will be the number one quarterback heading into camp but will be challenged by Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brian Brohm.
The offense and the passing attack ranked a dreadful 30th last year. Fred Jackson rushed for over 1000 yards and will now be joined by number one draft choice CJ Spiller to make for a talented backfield. Buffalo was a decent 16th in the NFL for scoring defense last year but new defensive coordinator George Edwards will switch to the 3-4 which may cause some transition pains. Gailey will most certainly improve the offense and the Bills may steal a game or two along the way. If the defense can hold its own and quarterback production improve Buffalo may prove to be a dangerous dog although they are not able to contend against the best of the AFC.

Dallas Cowboys fans, did the Buffalo Bills get a good coach in Chan Gailey?
That's tough to say. Dallas went 10-6 and 8-8 in Gailey's two seasons (1998-99) and 0-2 in the playoffs.
Gailey was an innovative offensive coach. Dallas used plenty of multiple receiver sets, ran receiver screens and reverses out of unique formations, and generally he got the most out what he had.
Remember, though, the Cowboys still had Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders, Darren Woodson, etc. in the time Gailey was there. So it's hard to know for sure if Gailey was really that good; or if the talent he inherited was.
Dallas also had many, many injuries those two years. Later Jerry Jones said firing Gailey was one of his biggest regrets; so the Bills may be getting a very good coach.
