New England beating Detroit.  Detroit kept it close for over three quarters, until the Patriots and Tom Brady found Lions corner back 180 pound turkey Alphonso Smith and fried him good the entire second half.  Brady finished with a perfect passer rating of 158.3 (which even Will Hunting can't figure out).  Tom Brady is the ultimate man.  I bet he went home and whipped up a five course thanksgiving dinner without even breaking a sweat.

New Orleans edging Dallas.  The Saints won a game they were in control of for most of the game.  They were not very efficient in the red zone, and Reggie Bush who had every reason to be rusty after being out for eight weeks and he was.  He dropped sure touchdown pass that cost the Saints a chance to put the game away in the 3rd quarter and his punt return fumble allowed the Cowboys to get back in the game.  The Saints do have a top five quarterback in Drew Brees though.  When the Saints got the ball back with three minutes to play it was a foregone conclusion that they would score and they did.  Brees is clutch.  He has an accurate arm and his 50 yard pass to Robert Meachum was right on the money.  The Saints defense is more solid this season than last year's defense, they just aren't causing turnovers in bunches like last year.  Malcolm Jenkins theft job on Cowboy wide receiver Roy Williams was the biggest play of the game.  I've only seen that happened twice and both times it involved the Saints.  Last year Robert Meachum stole the ball from a Washington Redskin player.  This win was huge for the Saints though.  They are in the NFC toughest division record wise and cannot afford to lose any games.

The Cowboys rallied after falling behind 17-0.  I thought for sure they were about to get blown out again.  A month ago that would have happened.  With Jason Garrett they hung tough.  I'm sure the interim tag will be removed soon.  This loss was a mirconism of their entire season.  Just when you thought the Cowboys had the game in hand when Roy Williams was running free on that slant pass, he gets picked by Malcolm Jenkins.  It's a little confusing why Williams didn't look up at the end zone television to see Jenkins was closing in.  Garrett was too conservative once the Cowboys got the Saints forty-two yard line with two timeouts left.  He had Jon Kitna throw side line passes when the middle was available.  The Cowboys do have receivers like Jason Witten, Dez Bryant and Miles Austin who are terrific running after the catch.  The 59 yard attempt though was close, was a low percentage move.

New York Jets over Cincinnati.  The Bengals, I mean T.O are all talk and no bite.  Now the Bengals special teams are terrible too.  Shoeless Brad Smith saved the Jets from having another nail biting ending.  Several dissapointed fans lead by fireman Ed were seen demanding their money back. 

Chicago beating Philadelphia.  The Bears played their best game of the year.  They were terrific in all phases of the game.  Their offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage.  They were able to run the ball, they gave Jay Cutler time to pass which hasn't been the always been the case this year and their special teams kept them in favorable field position for most of the game.  And most of all, their defense made Michael Vic look human.  The Bears defensive line harassed and pressured Vic the entire game.  Their linebackers and defensive backfield gave up yards but their plan to take away the big play and make Vic dink and dunk his way down the field worked to perfection.  They even forced Vic's first interception near the end of half which turned over the game.  That was a fourteen point switch.  The Bears took the down the field and scored a touchdown.  A great win for the Bears.

The Eagle offense for the first time this year was controlled.  The Bears took away the deep pass and made the Eagles take small chunks to move the ball.  Vic took what the defense gave him but his fleet footed  but svelte wide receiver DeSean Jackson seemed frustrated.  He wants no part of catching ten to twelve yard passes then getting hit. On one of Vic's slant pass in the third quarter in the end zone, Jackson kept both eyes on the safety and none on the ball..   The Eagles also settled for too many field goals.  They should expect to see similar game plans for the rest of the season.  Their defense got torched for the first time in a long time.  They couldn't stop the run and gave away too many big plays, complete with poor tackling.  They sorely missed Asante Samuel who was out with injury.

New York Giants over Jacksonville.  The Giants had no turnovers and won helping Eli's brother Peyton in the process.  The Jaguars took a nap in the second half and that cost them the game.

Pittsburgh edging out Buffalo.  The Steelers were saved by their new kicker Shaun Suisham who kicked four field goals and Bills receiver Steve Johnson's choke in overtime. The Bills continue to lose in the most cruelest of ways.  The fans are blaming former kicker Scott Norwood for putting a curse on the franchise.

Houston shutting out Tennessee.  The Titans found out what life was like without Vince Young, but this game will be remembered for the butt whipping that Andre Johnson put on Cortland Finnegan. Finnegan was seen in the locker room crying and calling for his mommy.

Minnesota edging Washington.  The Vikings showed what they can do when their head coach is anyone not named Brad Childress.  The Redskins are a typical Yo-Yo team.  Up one week, down the next.

Atlanta edging Green Bay.  The Falcons win proved they are the NFC's best team.  The Packers are busy trying to talk Paul Horning and Jim Taylor out of retirement because their running game stinks.

Cleveland edging Carolina.  Jake Delhomme showed his former teammates that he can still throw game turning interceptions.  The Panther's almost ruined their chance to get the first pick in the draft by winning.

Kansas City over Seattle.  Matt Cassel proved to his former college coach Pete Carroll that he should have been the starter over that Matt what's him name guy.  The Seahawks still have a great chance to win the division.  7-9 should do it.

Miami beating Oakland.  The Dolphins rediscovered that when you run the ball, you win no matter who the quarterback is.  The Raiders played like they were still in triptafen mode.

Baltimore over Tampa Bay.  The young Buccaneers proved that they can play with the big boys.  But they still get the last piece of chicken at dinner table.  The Ravens were looking forward to the Steelers rematch at kickoff.

St. Louis over Denver.  The Rams won their first road game and two wins away from clinching the weakest division in the NFL history.  The Broncos lose again and blame it on not being able to cheat.

San Diego beating Indianapolis.  The Chargers are on a roll like they usually get this time year.  They are clicking in all phases of the game.  Even the special team problems seem to be fixed.  The Charger's have now beaten the Colts five out six times.  Let's it, the Chargers have had the Colts number even when the Colts were good and healthy.  This one wasn't even close.  It's apparent that all the Colt injuries are finally taking full effect and they are struggling.  It's a sad sight to see Peyton Manning wince before he gets hit.  The only thing that could be worse is having him take a phantom sack like Jim Everett ala did when he played for the Los Angeles Rams.  Yes people the Rams and Raiders did play in Los Angeles at one time.

Among good NFL teams, which would you say is the most under-achieving? I say the Philadelphia Eagles.?

I say the Eagles because they have lost four NFC championship games since the '99-2000 season.
They lost 29 to 24 to the Rams in 2000. 27 to 10 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 14 to 3 to the Carolina Panthers at home the next two seasons. And 33 to 25 to the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams loss was understandable, and the Cardinals loss was a pick' em, toss up game. But to lose to the sorry ass Bucs and Panthers at home is pretty unforgivable. Plus they were not outmatched by the Pats in SB 39, they could have won, they just didn't play well.

Reading that broke my heart all over again, seriously.
They do under achieve though, all those young stars.
Losing to the Bucs was so hard to bare because that was "our year".
