The classic show in television is something that can be considered similar to anything as classic as the Shakespearean plays or Dickens's work in terms of literature and therefore is hard to come by. To attain this, the show has to be equally well accepted by the viewers and critics alike. The comedy shows are more difficult in this context to turn into classics as it is not easy to create a script and characters that are good clearly defined and yet hilarious. But when you watch Seinfeld, you see a perfect combination of all these things and more, so it does not come as a surprise to the viewer when it is said that this show is amongst the classic of television comedies.
The show was launched in 1989 and continued on the screen for nine seasons, before singing off in 1998. It was a success in more ways than one! It was critically acclaimed for its unique presentation and an out of the usual plot, it was also loved by the audience for its hilarious content and most importantly it was constantly on the top rankings of the television programs for almost the entire run of its online duration. So much so that it is still searched for by the fans who either buy a DVD of it or watch Seinfeld online. There are various websites that present the Seinfeld episodes of the show pertaining to all the seasons online. Therefore, fans can watch whichever episode they feel like watching.
The plot of the show is quite unlike the existing norms for a sitcom at that time. Mostly such shows had a family or a situation as a base to create comedy, but Seinfeld was a show, which had characters that were related in blood and created comical sequences based on mundane and minutiae incidences. When you watch Seinfeld you laugh at these sequences and it is as refreshing online as it was back then on television. The show revolves around the fictionalized self-portrayal of Jerry Seinfeld as a normal guy, and entering into the above mentioned comic sequences with his friend or neighbour or ex-girlfriend. Each of whom is a quite ably played by Jason Alexander, Michael Richards and Julia Louis-Dreyfus respectively.

I saw him a couple of years ago. It translated to an $80 nap. I actually fell asleep for 45 minutes. In the beginning, people we laughing and I sat their with my jaw open thinking "WTH are these people laughing at?"
