TOP Recommended Tourist Attractions in Libya
Modern day Libya is the fourth largest African country. It is bordered by Egypt, Sudan, Chad, Niger, Tunisia and Algeria with over 2000 km of beautiful Mediterranean Sea coastline. With an area of 1.75 million sq km. and a population of only 4.5 million, Libya offers a large mass of land that is sparsely inhabited due to the ravaging Sahara Desert.
Hotels in Libya are comfortable and the staff is friendly and polite. You will be surprised by the large number of facilities and interesting architecture of the Libya hotels.
There are numerous attractions, which you can visit here- Roman sites, old desert cities and many other interesting places. Here are some ideas what to visit when traveling to Libya.
- Sabratah- this place is World Heritage site and is set on the beautiful Mediterranean coastline. Its main site is majestic Amphitheatre. It has a wide variety of public baths, temples and fountains with many artistically designed mosaics both on site and in the adjacent Museum, Some Byzantine remains exemplify the revival after the invasions by the Vandals.
- Tripoli – this is the capital city of Libya. The old walled Medina, is one of the classical sites of the Mediterranean. The basic street plan was laid down during the Roman period when the walls were constructed on the landward sides against attacks from the interior of Tripolitania. Al-Saraya Al-Hamra castle is one more popular attraction here.
- Leptis Magna- this place I known as the jewel of Libya. Leptis Magna offers ruins from the Augustan period when the city's first forum was built. Amongst other structures, include the Temples of Antaoninus and Cyhele which was later converted to a church in the Byzantine period the Basilica, which was used as city courts and Curia which was used as a city council.
- Ghadames desert- Built in an oasis, Ghadamès, "the pearl of the desert", is one of the oldest pre-Saharan cities and an outstanding example of a traditional settlement. The main purpose was to offer its residents a cool housing to stand against the desert heat. Its architecture is characterized by the different functions assigned to each storey - the ground floor used to store supplies, another floor extending over dark enclosed passages forming a system of passageways with open-air terraces reserved for women.
There are also many other interesting attractions to visit in Libya as Spartan city of Tokra, the mosaic center of Gaser Libya, Cyrene of Pentapolis, which houses the famous and majestic Temples of Zeus and Apollo, the port of Sousa at Apolloinia, the city of Tulmaytha (Ptolemais) famous World War II site of Tobruk, and a lot more.
To visit all of them you need proper accommodation in Libya. A great idea is to book online hotel in Libya. This is your chance to get the best discounted rates for your vacation.

Going to Miller Park...seating?
I'm planning on going to a couple of Cubs vs Brewers games next month, and I just wanted to get someone's take on seating in the terrace reserved and Bernie's terrace sections. I've sat in upper deck seats before, but I've never sat past the outfield. How are the views? Also, if there are any suggestions regarding good eats or anything else about Miller Park, I'd appreciate your input.
Terrace Reserved isn't bad as long as you are as low as possible and between the dugouts. Some of those seats are pretty high up. I've never sat in Bernie's Terrace because it is SO FAR from home plate.
The nice thing about both of the sections you mentioned is that the tickets are pretty cheap. But, like most things in life, you kind of get what you pay for. But that probably won't matter for a Cubs vs. Brewers series, as the games are always sellouts and there tends to be a lot of fan excitement for these games. There always tends to be some hammerheads in the stands who are "fans" for BOTH teams that can be rude and abusive to fans from the other team. I don't go to the Brewers/Cubs games any more because I don't want my daughter exposed to all of the swearing...but that's just me!
As far as eats, there is a TON of outstanding food at Miller Park. You can never go wrong with a brat, of course, but my favorite is still the Texas League Nachos. I know they have a stand on the Loge level, right on the 3rd base side of home plate. My daughter also loves the candy-coated cashews, and these stands are pretty much all over the ballpark. If you're getting there early, you may want to bring a grill, some chairs, and a cooler full of beer, as tailgating in the parking lot prior to the game is an absolute blast!
I would also recommend the Preferred Parking. It costs a little more (I think it's $20 vs. $12 for Regular Parking), but it's a better crowd of people, especially if you plan on tailgating. You also get out of the parking lot much faster after the game is over.
Enjoy the games and enjoy beautiful Miller Park!
