Beyonce Knowles started her musical career with a bang as one-third of the world’s best-selling female group of all time, Destiny’s Child. Since retiring from the group, the pop princess has embarked on her own solo endeavors, meeting tremendous success along the way. Her previous two albums, Dangerously in Love and B’Day, have both debuted at number one, garnering much much critical acclaim. Her latest album is no exception.

I Am… Sasha Fierce was released on November 18, 2OO8. "Sasha Fierce", according to Beyonce, is a stage persona she adopts whenever she performs. "I have someome else that takes over when it’s time for me to work and when I’m on stage", she explains. Within three months of its release, the album has already hit double platinum, selling over 2,OOO,OOO copies in the U.S.

Beyonce will be kicking off her 44-date I Am… Tour in North America, beginning in March. "I've been working on this tour for eight months [...] I've been rehearsing and trying to make sure I put my set list together. Right now I'm anxious and I can't sleep -- I'll be wanting to be at rehearsal. That's the only thing I can think about. But I can't wait."
